Beckett keeps its site offline as grading submissions move through a temporary form

The outage now touches research and submissions

Beckett's maintenance page says features normally accessed through Beckett.com may be temporarily unavailable while infrastructure work continues. It specifically names account access, online order-status tools, the Population Report, Price Guides, Marketplace and other digital features as affected areas.

For collectors, those are not cosmetic tools. Population reports help buyers understand how common a grade is. Price guides and checklists help set expectations before a rip, break spot or slab purchase. Certificate and card lookups help confirm that a slab matches the card being sold.

Cardlines reported that the outage began around 7 p.m. CT on September 9 and that Beckett had not posted a firm return date by September 29. Beckett's current page is still careful: its teams are working on infrastructure enhancements, and updates will be shared when more information is available.

Existing orders are still moving

The most important caveat is that Beckett says existing orders are not frozen. The company says its digital platforms being offline does not affect processing for orders already received, and that grading and autograph-authentication teams remain operational.

Collectors with cards already at Beckett may still feel the disruption if they normally use online order-status tools. Beckett says automated email updates will continue as submissions move through the grading process, and the company points customers to support for help with existing orders.

Drop-offs and pickups are also still possible at Beckett headquarters in Plano, Texas, but Beckett says appointments are required. Event submissions may be available where Beckett offers them.

Express is open, cheaper tiers are not

The current Beckett page says Express is available through a temporary form. Base and Standard are paused again, with a waitlist for collectors who want to know when those services reopen.

That matters because Base and Standard are the lower-cost lanes many collectors use when they are not trying to rush a card. Yahoo Sports, republishing Heavy, reported earlier in September that Beckett had reopened Base and Standard through a temporary system after a prior pause, but Beckett's live page now shows the cheaper tiers are unavailable again.

The signal is simple: check Beckett's own maintenance page before packaging a submission. A grading tier that was open earlier in the month may not be open when the cards are ready to ship.

What collectors should do before sending cards

Collectors should separate three decisions: cards already at Beckett, new submissions, and slab checks before buying.

For existing orders, use Beckett's email updates and customer-service path rather than assuming online tracking is back. For new submissions, confirm which grading tiers are accepting cards and whether the temporary form fits the card count, service level and destination. Beckett's current form is for submissions sent to its Plano headquarters, not Beckett EU.

For buying, slow down when a listing depends on Beckett data that is hard to verify while the site is offline. If a seller is pointing to a BGS pop number, certificate result or checklist claim, ask for screenshots, cert details and enough slab photos to make the card checkable once the tools return.

The clean takeaway: Beckett is still grading, but its normal digital layer is not back. Until it is, collectors should treat Beckett-linked submissions and slab checks as a manual process, not a one-click lookup.
