Underdog Rips review: 100% FMV sell-back with a 3-day clock

Last updated · facts checked against each platform's own pages

Underdog Rips is a digital card-pack product inside the Underdog Sports mobile app, where each pack is tied to one physical card held in a partner vault and a pulled card can be shipped or sold back for 100% of its fair market value at reveal. Packs start at $5 with odds posted on every pack. Any card you don't ship or sell within 3 days is sold back for you.

Quick verdict

Underdog Rips publishes the two numbers collectors care about most. The sell-back is 100% of the fair market value shown at reveal, and every pack page lists odds before you buy. That puts it level with the best sell-back terms we've reviewed.

The catch is time. You get 3 days to decide, and after that the card is sold back whether you wanted it or not. Collectors who want the physical card need to claim it quickly and pay the vault's shipping fee plus sales tax.

The 3-day rule

You have three days from the moment you open a pack to choose what happens to the card. Until you ship it or sell it back, it waits in My Card Stash. If the window runs out, Underdog sells the card back automatically at the fair market value set at reveal. Underdog says it tries to send a push notification at least 24 hours before that happens, and a ship or sell-back choice can't be undone once made. Turn on notifications if you plan to keep anything.

How Underdog Rips works

Rips lives in the Games section of the Underdog Sports app on iPhone and Android; it isn't on the website. Each digital pack is tied to one real card that's already sitting in a vault, so you're buying a chance at one card from that pack's published lineup. Tap to open and the card is picked and revealed instantly, with no livestream or wait. Phygitals Inc. sources, vaults and ships the cards, using vaults that include PSA, Fanatics and Alt facilities.

Pack prices and card value ranges

Sports packs cover baseball, basketball and football. Each holds either an authenticated raw card or a slab graded by PSA, BGS, CGC or SGC. The ranges below are the lowest and highest card values shown on each pack page in October 2026. Lineups rotate, so check the pack page before you buy.

Sports packPriceLowest cardTop card
Starter$5$1$150
All Star$25$10$750
MVP$100$50$3,000
Legend$1,000$500$30,000
GOAT$2,500$1,200$65,000

Read the lowest-card column first. In every tier, the cheapest card in the lineup is worth less than the pack costs. With Common pulls at about 80% in the odds we saw, the top card is the rare outcome, not the expected one.

Pokemon packs arrived on October 14, 2026, at $5, $25, $100, $1,000, $2,500, $5,000. Underdog put the top cards in its $5,000 Pokemon Master pack at up to $120,000.

Odds and how cards are picked

Odds are posted on each pack page before purchase, by rarity tier or card group rather than per card, and can update in real time as packs are opened. Because the odds are grouped by rarity tier, you see your chance of landing in a group, not your chance at one named card.

Pack pages checked in October 2026 showed Common pulls at about 80%, Epic at about 1% and Mythic at about 0.01%. Those are examples from one snapshot, not the full table, and they shift as packs are opened.

Phygitals selects cards with a provably fair system built on a server seed hash, a client seed and a disclosed algorithm; users can ask support for the documentation (Rips Terms of Use section 3).

On $5, $25, $100 and $1,000 sports packs, Toss Up is a 50/50 mode that removes the middle outcomes: the reveal lands on either the pack's lowest-value or highest-value group.

Sell-back and FMV terms

Underdog offers to buy back a revealed card for 100% of the fair market value shown at reveal, credited to your Underdog balance. The offer is locked for 3 days and won't drop; if you don't choose, the card is sold back automatically at that value. FMV blends Alt, Card Ladder and Underdog's own pricing from recent comparable sales. The locked price is the useful part: if a player gets hurt the day after your pull, your offer stays where it was. The flip side is that FMV is Underdog's number, built from third-party sales data, and the terms disclaim liability for pricing errors. Treat the sell-back as a platform offer, not a promise that a pack returns what it cost.

Shipping your card

Ship from My Card Stash within 3 days of opening by paying a per-card fee set by the vault partner, with no Underdog markup. Cards from different vaults ship separately, high-value shipments may need a signature, and a ship or sell-back choice can't be reversed. You can cancel a submitted claim yourself within 60 minutes.

No sales tax is collected when you buy a pack; it is charged when you request shipping, based on the delivery address (section 2). Cards ship to U.S. addresses only. Underdog doesn't publish fee amounts, so check the cost on the claim screen before the 3-day window closes.

Withdrawals and payment options

Sell-back proceeds go to your Underdog balance. Withdrawals are free with a $10 minimum, take 48-72 hours to process and then 1-3 business days to post to a bank, and can't be expedited.

Deposits by Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Venmo or Trustly bank transfer; withdrawals to a debit card, Apple Pay (Visa debit), PayPal, Venmo or Trustly, not to credit or prepaid cards. Not crypto-only. Your Rips balance sits in the same Underdog wallet as the rest of the app, and bonus funds in that wallet can't be withdrawn as cash.

Where Underdog Rips is available

Underdog accounts are 18+ (19+ in Alabama and Nebraska, 21+ in Arizona, Massachusetts and Virginia). Rips is available in every U.S. state except Nevada and is not available in Canada. That includes New Jersey and New York, where several other Underdog products aren't offered. Underdog's state rules differ by product, so a state being excluded from one Underdog offer doesn't mean Rips is unavailable there.

What the terms say about refunds and resale

Pack purchases are final. Refunds cover platform or payment errors, counterfeit or materially misgraded cards and unauthorized use, requested within 30 days (section 6). The terms bar users from marketing Rips cards as investments or setting up outside marketplaces for them without consent (section 8). The terms state that a pulled card can be worth less than the pack price.

Who should use Underdog Rips

Use Rips if you want sports or Pokemon packs with posted odds and like knowing the exact sell-back price the moment a card appears. Skip it if you want to hold cards for weeks before deciding or would rather open packs in a desktop browser.

Promo status

Sign up through Rip Report's referral link to get a free $5 Rips pack on top of Underdog's new-user offer. Underdog lists the pack as worth up to $150, which is its top card value. The Underdog Rips promo page explains how the referral offer works and what to check at signup.

Best alternative

Packz.io uses the same 3-day pattern on a web-first, cards-only platform. If 3 days feels too short, Rips by Triumph locks its FMV buyback for at least seven days.

FAQ

How does Underdog Rips work?+

You buy a digital pack in the Underdog Sports app. Each pack is tied to one physical card already in a vault, and the card is revealed as soon as you open it. You then have 3 days to ship it or sell it back before Underdog sells it back automatically.

Is Underdog Rips legit?+

Underdog Rips is run by Underdog Sports with Phygitals Inc., which sources, vaults and ships the cards. Odds are posted on every pack page and the sell-back price is published as 100% of fair market value at reveal. A pulled card can still be worth less than the pack price.

How long do I have to sell back or ship a card?+

Three days from the moment you open the pack. If you don't choose, the card is sold back automatically at the fair market value set at reveal. Underdog says it tries to send a push notification at least 24 hours before that happens.

Is the Underdog Rips buyback really 100%?+

Yes, of the fair market value shown when the card is revealed. That price is locked for the 3-day window and won't drop even if the card's market moves. Underdog sets FMV from Alt, Card Ladder and its own pricing based on recent comparable sales.

How much do Underdog Rips packs cost?+

Sports packs cost $5, $25, $100, $1,000 or $2,500. Pokemon packs use the same tiers plus a $5,000 pack. Every pack holds one card.

What does shipping cost on Underdog Rips?+

The fee is set per card by the vault holding it and shown before you confirm the claim. Underdog adds no markup, but sales tax is charged at shipping. Cards ship to U.S. addresses only.

What states allow Underdog Rips?+

Every U.S. state except Nevada, including New Jersey and New York. Rips is not available in Canada and only runs in the mobile app.

Is there an Underdog Rips promo code?+

Sign up through Rip Report's referral link to get a free $5 Rips pack on top of Underdog's new-user offer. Underdog lists the pack as worth up to $150, which is its top card value, not a typical result.
