Fanatics Collectibles plans to open a 5,500-square-foot Paris flagship on October 23, putting trading cards, exclusive releases, live events and breaking sessions into its first continental Europe card store.
The store will sit on Rue Saint-Lazare and carry official trading cards, stickers, memorabilia, singles and supplies tied to Paris Saint-Germain, UEFA Champions League, Formula 1, NBA, NFL, MLB, Disney, Marvel and Star Wars. Sports Business Journal reported that the Paris location matches the size of Fanatics' Regent Street flagship in London.
This is not just a retail-expansion headline. Fanatics is testing whether a card shop can work as a live collecting venue, with breaks, events and exclusive products giving collectors a reason to show up instead of only ordering boxes or joining streams from a phone.
London gave Fanatics a blueprint
Fanatics is not opening Paris cold. Its London flagship opened in April 2025, and the company said that store has welcomed more than one million visitors, with weekly foot traffic reaching as high as 20,000 people.
David Leiner, president of Trading Cards at Fanatics Collectibles, framed the Paris move around community rather than shelf space. In the company comments carried by Collectibles on SI and Yahoo Finance, Leiner said London showed people were not just buying cards, but building a community around collecting.
FashionNetwork reported another piece of the logic: Fanatics said its French business grew 55% in 2025. That gives Paris a commercial reason beyond brand presence, especially with soccer, Formula 1, NBA and entertainment products all able to pull different kinds of collectors into the same store.
Breaks are part of the store plan
The live-break detail is the part Rip Report readers should watch. Collectibles on SI said the Paris store will include live breaking events and exclusive Paris releases, while FashionNetwork described the location as a community hub with live events and exchange areas for enthusiasts.
That matters because Fanatics already touches several parts of the modern card loop: Topps products, physical retail, Fanatics Collect, Fanatics Live and sports-fan merchandising. A flagship store can connect those surfaces in a way a normal online drop cannot.
For collectors, the open question is how transparent the in-store break formats will be. The venue may make the experience feel more social, but the same buying checks still apply: product format, checklist, spot assignment, breaker rules, shipping or pickup path, and how exclusive releases are allocated.
Europe gets a bigger physical hobby test
The Paris store also says something about how Fanatics sees Europe. This is a continental Europe flagship, not a pop-up table at an event, and it will sit in a high-traffic retail district rather than a traditional hobby-shop location.
The product mix is broad by design. PSG and UEFA Champions League can anchor local soccer interest. Formula 1 adds a pan-European lane. NBA, NFL and MLB bring the American sports-card inventory Fanatics already knows. Disney, Marvel and Star Wars give the store an entertainment-card bridge for shoppers who may not enter through sports at all.
That is a different route into collecting than asking a new buyer to understand hobby boxes, retail blasters, live breaks and online marketplaces on day one. A tourist or casual fan can walk in for a club, driver, movie franchise or sticker album and leave with a trading-card habit.
What collectors should check before the opening
The collector takeaway is to treat Paris as a signal, not just a store announcement. Fanatics is making physical collecting more event-driven, and live breaks are moving into a flagship retail setting with exclusive releases around them.
Before joining any launch-week break or chasing a Paris-only release, buyers should check the exact product, print or allocation details, purchase limits, break rules, pickup or shipping options, and whether the exclusive item is tied to the store, the event, or a broader Fanatics channel.
A big store does not remove the need for pack math. It raises the stakes for clear rules because more casual collectors may meet the hobby through this kind of flagship experience.
